There’s an interview on Roger Crockett’s website from June 2011 about Relentless Innovation. No, not about my book but about the topic of Relentless Innovation, from the perspective of TaylorMade. While many people may not know it, TaylorMade is a real innovator in the golf world. If you read the interview you’ll see that Mark King, the CEO of TaylorMade, understands the importance of Relentless Innovation. He points out that command and control doesn’t work in a fast paced economy, and that the processes and culture must ensure that everyone is working on innovation.
I especially liked this quote:
I tell people who are in charge today you’re not in charge of the decision; you’re in charge of creating an environment where people can raise their hand and express their ideas. It’s messy and clumsy sometimes, and controversial. I just believe that the struggle of this process is what creates the new innovation.
